It’s already a day old, but I figure it’s interesting news to see, so I’m reposting Eyonix’s post about a pre-Wrath content update.

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade’s release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as they’re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.

Apparently I missed out on a couple good Stormwardens runs.  Last week the first part of a Zul’Aman run netted the second timed chest (and obviously the first one too).  The second run consisted of a Hex Lord Malacrass one-shot and a downing of Zul’jin on the first night ever attempting him.  Congratulations to the group that got him down!

Maybe, just maybe, we’ll be able to get a bear mount some day…

Blizzcon ’08

Several people from Stormwardens plan on attending.  As of this news post, the site to order tickets has been under extreme pressure and no one has been able to purchase tickets.

Stormwardens Waffle Day

It’s amazing the traditions that can be started by an off-the-cuff comment or post.  Next week we’ll be celebrating the third “Stormwardens Waffle Day”.  Yes, newly dubbed by yours truly and scarily sharing the same three letter abbreviation as Shadow Word: Death.  Let’s hope it’s a lot more syrupy than deadly or .. maybe just change it to SWWD?

Fun raids

If you’d care to enjoy a celebration of SW{1,2}D (that’s a geek joke right there) with us, just make sure you have a character that works with our calendaring system and sign up for the Waffle raid.  While you are at it, if you think you can handle it, there is a raid set up to run Karazhan in formal wear again.  I have a feeling it will get a lot of attention this time around.  If you have an idea for a fun raid or gathering, let us know in the forums.  I think everyone could use some fun in the duldrums of waiting for Wrath of the Lich King.
