Formal wear Karazhan

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

For anyone that knows Stormwardens, you know we’ll do some odd things.

When comments arose about the abilities of our tanks, a single comment started the gears in motion for a long night. “I’d love to see Tankin tank Prince in a dress.” Despite the fact I was requested to do it in a dress, rather than say, a tuxedo, I said I would do it. So we set a date for February 19 so that everyone had time to get their appropriate formal wear and for some to get back to their own country!

Aner takes full responsibility for requesting Tankin in a dress. He even had it made for me.

Dressed to kill, as it were, we formed our raid. Unfortunately there were a few no-shows. We thank the reluctant Pantere for helping out his guildies, even if has to hide from his wife the fact his short male dwarf was wearing a dress. Peer pressure has a way of making you do things.

We started a bit later than usual, but plowed straight for Attumen. It was a lot different than to what I’ve grown accustomed. It took a bit of time, but down he went. On to Moroes!

I feared Moroes would teach us a lesson about showing up for a “wedding” without a reservation when he was already busy with guests. We explained very carefully that we were going to use his stage and he was going to give us gifts. He obliged. Two down and on to Maiden!

Maiden did not take lightly to the idea that two male gnomes were the bride and groom. I agree wholeheartedly. She laid poor Tankin out, as well as a few others, but we came away with a place to stay for the night (by clearing an extra room). I have a feeling there will be many “wedding night” screenshots shared. Three down and on to Opera.

Many people looked forward to the chance that we would have Romulo and Julianne to go with the theme. To our delight, that’s exactly what we had. They seemed easier than Attumen. Go figure. Four down and on to Curator.

I figured it would start hurting with only two healers. The trash to Curator gave us a couple problems, but not like I expected. We have good people. You can only imagine how slow Curator went down. The problem was that once he went ballistic I did not have my finger on Shield Wall. That was a mistake. *squish*. Once I went down it was pretty easy to see who was on the top of the aggro list. *squish* *squish* *squish* *squish* *squish* *squish*. Luckily each person put out the damage as fast as they could, downing Curator with three people left. We ended our night there. There are some screenshots up in our guild discussion and I’m sure there will be some for the general public.

Curator down!

Several people have told me I need help. I’m starting to believe them.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

For those that don’t know, we’ve had more than a few people leave the guild recently. A couple are due to that thing called “Real Life”©. To these few we say, “Good choice. Come back when you can.” Many are itching for more progression than we provide as a mostly casual guild. I’m sure many alts will remain and we’ll see them popping their heads in at least sporadically. To those taking their raiding a step further I say, “Good luck and let us know about phat lewts!”

As most Stormwardens already know, we are at a progression stopping point. We will continue to run Karazhan (with how many alts? :P ) and possibly Zul’Aman, but 25-man content with pure Stormwardens won’t be happening anytime soon.
