Stormwardens meet High King. High King, meet Stormwardens.
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007After some brief introductions, High King Maulgar was lying on the floor presenting Stormwardens with a couple shoulder pieces and some plate bracers.
I assure you the encounter was far from epic. As our first foray into Gruul’s Lair, it was just a matter of putting what many of us have read (and some prior experience) into practice. I’ll be the first to admit that as the person giving directions for the raid, I didn’t really give anyone too much time to talk about how to do it. We gave out tanking assignments and had healers organize themselves as they saw fit. Then I threw the entire 25-man raid into the fire. We died. We rezzed. We learned. We adjusted. After several iterations, we demolished them. Talk is cheap, repairs aren’t. Learn or pay more.
With High King down and a lot more time than we thought we’d have for the night, we went on to Gruul. I threw the raid at Gruul pretty much like High King. The first attempt was a paltry 65% before growth 12. Aggromagnet now knows what it means to truly be crushed. Go tin can! On the following attempts we improved and managed to get to 25% on our best attempt before we were done for the night. I’m sure the forums will be aflutter with “how-tos”, “WTF?” and other Gruul related information. Just like always, we’ll make our adjustments and Gruul will be handing us our loot in no time.
Congratulations to all 25 Stormwardens that made it on our first run in Gruul’s!
