So I hear in passing.  Last time I saw Mimiron, his personal Flame Leviathon made us weep.  I guess we just plod along doing our best.  Eventually the bosses succumb to our assaults and drop “phat lewts”.  Here is to lots more!

News.  News.  News… yeah, not a whole lot of it around here.  Progression?  None around here, unless you’re talking about alts getting leveled.

Wait!  We have new officers!  Exorest and Pantherz have joined the officer ranks.  It’s not often we promote people to that level, so a special congratulations to them.  Now they too can understand what it means to be an officer in Stormwardens.  “Invite my alt”, “Why am I still a trial?”, “Change my main”, “My name isn’t Steve, wth is with the officer note?”, yada, yada, yada.

These news posts made me realize something.  I’ll never be a blogger.  I don’t find enough to whine, complain, or brag about consistently.

Finishing up our third night in Ulduar after clearing Hodir and Thorim this week, we went back in to play with Freya some. After several rough attempts at her, we got down a pattern and were able to kill her. It wasn’t clean, but we should be able to do it better next time. Rarely is the first kill anything but messy.

After Freya we went on to Mimiron. As reported, the trash sucks. Also as reported, Mimiron sucks. Hopefully we’ll pick up some new gear before we see him again and it’ll help with the Plasma Blasts. It looks like practice, skill, and situational awareness is going to be the key for this fight.

After a few bumpy weeks, we were able to get back on track for raids. Thanks to Thugger, Zandrabel, and Mayana came back to help us noobs since we’ve been running light of raiders recently. Also thanks to Booka for rejoining the guild and partying with us a bit more.

After several weeks of attempts, Hodir finally went down. Looks like the trick to him is a lot of good healing, situational awareness, and luck. Some frost resistance gear certainly doesn’t hurt, either.

Thorim went down quickly compared to the other bosses in that from first trash pulls to death, it took us under an hour. Only Flame Leviathan took less time for the first kill than that. Zandrabel helped us figure out the fight faster than we might have otherwise done by warning us about the lightning streams. We managed to kill him on our third try.

Freya and Mimiron are next on our list before we begin our decent into the darkness.

Auriaya fell to our raid on Sunday afternoon. It was a somewhat technically difficult fight and we had a number of attempts on her, but in the end we prevailed. Hopefully the kill will just continue to get cleaner in future weeks.

In addition we got the chance to play with Hodir a bit. It’ll take a bit to get used to how the fight goes and how to get our DPS high enough to kill him without killing ourselves in the process. Hopefully we’ll be able to get him down this coming week!

Congratulations to everyone! We have now cleared half of the Ulduar bosses!
